As India’s economy continues to grow and digital connectivity becomes ever-present, the direct selling sector is also projected to soar to a staggering $173.3 billion by 2025. The constant support from the Indian government through policies like 100% FDI, has given many ambitious people a platform to create a lucrative career in direct selling.

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is the governing body behind the Direct Selling Rules. The industry is regulated under the Consumer Protection Act and numerous Indian direct selling associations act as a link between direct sellers and the concerned government departments. QNET’s franchise, Vihaan, follows all the rules and regulations in India, providing a platform for personal and professional growth built on ethical business practices.

Latest Court Order In Favour of Vihaan

A recent crucial ruling by the City Civil & Sessions Court of Bangalore (in April 2024) has dealt a decisive blow to these malicious parties. The court’s interim order unequivocally prohibits the organisation, Financial Fraud’s Victims Welfare Association, from disseminating false and defamatory statements regarding QNET’s business activities in India, and more specifically does not allow them to organise Press Conferences aiming to defame the QNET business.

For over a decade, this association has employed reprehensible tactics of criminal intimidation and baseless allegations, culminating in a concerted effort to malign QNET’s reputation and destabilise its operations. From social media smear campaigns to orchestrated public demonstrations, their actions have sought to sow seeds of doubt and discontent. According to the court’s interim order, the Association and its members: Gurupreet Sign Anand, Phanindra, Anuja Kotecha and Surendra Mukaitra are prohibited from making false and unverified statements concerning QNET’s business activities.

The court’s judgment is prompted by the Association’s Press Conference convened in Hyderabad on March 17th, 2024, during which the association unabashedly disseminated shocking misrepresentations. These misrepresentations included baseless allegations implicating QNET in Ponzi schemes and falsely asserting that dissatisfied customers resorted to suicide due to their claimed inability to maintain their QNET business ventures. Such dissemination of false information underscores the imperative to uncover their deceit and uphold the integrity of truth. The court’s rebuke of the defendants’ actions reaffirms the principle that freedom of speech does not entail a license for defamation. By categorically condemning their malicious intent as blatant blackmail, the court has sent a resounding message that truth and integrity must prevail in public discourse.

Legal Observations on QNET Products Supply Chain

The court’s scrutiny also brought to light the association’s attempts to disrupt QNET’s product supply chain through intimidation tactics aimed at its service providers, such as India Post and TCI. These claims have been proven to be completely false, further establishing QNET’s unwavering commitment to doing business honestly. It was observed that as per a High Court of Karnataka order, in favour of Vihaan – W.P. 7603/2024, dated 13/03/2024, the services of India Post continue.

Moreover, previous legal precedents, including the Supreme Court’s Stay Order (March 2017) and the High Court of Karnataka’s FIR-Quashing order (February 2017), have unequivocally affirmed the legitimacy of QNET’s business operations, shutting down any rumours that QNET was acting unethically.

As QNET embarks on its 26th year of empowering individuals and fostering entrepreneurship, this court order stands as a resolute affirmation of its unwavering dedication to integrity and transparency. It shows everyone the importance of sticking to the truth even when the going gets tough. QNET is committed to continue empowering individuals on their journey to success.
