Every year, climate change continues to impact our environment. In addition, there are rapid population growth and increased anthropogenic emissions which impacts outdoor air quality with an increase in summertime ozone in urban areas, particulate matter due to more frequent wildfires, and airborne pollens, molds and biogenic volatile organic compounds. This makes exposure to outdoor air pollution more and more extreme, resulting in higher health risks, especially in the sensitive receptors of urban areas. Indoor environments of homes are the most obvious first line of defense against these air pollutants.
QNET introduces AirPure Zayn that combines the most powerful technologies of HPP+ Electrostatic, Ultraviolet and Ultra-Plasma Ion filters. QNET AirPure Zayn removes 99.8% airborne particulates, allergens, bacteria, fungi, viruses, bad odours and VOCs. It has a 5-stage purification process which is as follows –
Stage 1: Prefilter – Removes large particles such as dust, pet dander, and pollen.
Stage 2: Ultra-Plasma Ion Filter – Chemically dissolves and eliminates over 99% of viruses, bacteria, and germs in the air; converts contaminants into safe H2O
Stage 3: HPP Filter – Eliminates airborne particulate particles as small as O.1 microns, as well as microscopic organisms, and viruses, bacteria, fungi, moulds, and dust mites; removes toxic vapours and other harmful passes such as VOCs, formaldehyde, and carbon monoxide
Stage 4: Activated Carbon Filter – Eliminates unpleasant gases, and vapours
Stage 5: UV Light – Eliminates germs, bacteria and viruses that have not been dissolved by the ultra-plasma ion filter; UV light is safe for the human body and has excellent antibacterial capabilities
QNET AirPure Zayn also comes with the following features –

Air pollution and its effects
The world is getting hotter and more crowded with time. Yet, our engines don’t stop pumping out unhealthy emissions and half the world lives without access to clean fuels or technologies. The very air we breathe every day is increasingly becoming dangerously polluted with nine out of ten people breathing polluted air killing 7 million people each year. Air pollution has serious consequences – one third of deaths from lung cancer, stroke and heart disease are all due to air pollution. This is the equivalent to smoking tobacco. Having said that, air pollution is inescapable, no matter the area you live in. It is everywhere around us. Microscopic pollutants in the air have the ability to dodge past our body’s defences, and lodge deep into our respiratory and circulatory system, damaging our lungs, heart and brain.
Air pollution is broadly classified into two main types – ambient air pollution (outdoor pollution) and household or indoor air pollution that refers to pollution caused by combustion of fuels in a household (typically caused by fuel burning like coal, wood or kerosene) using open fires or poorly ventilated spaces.
India is experiencing an acute case of pollution crisis with more than 1 million pollution-related deaths in 2017. A number of remedial measures were suggested in an attempt to mitigate the colossal pollution issue including oxygen bars to artificial rain. India is home to 15 of the 20 most polluted cities in the world, with New Delhi recording the dirtiest air according to Greenpeace and IQ AirVisual, a Swiss-based group that gathers air-quality data globally.
A series of critical air pollution episodes have created waves in India leading to a public outcry. The spikes are mainly in fine particulate matter (PM2.5) that have caused schools to close with declaration of health emergency by the state government. These instances are recurrent every year with the beginning of winter, made worse by the festive season. Extreme air pollution has become a season on its own from October to February. A significant reason why this is happening is the intentional burning to clear agriculture residue and forests in neighbouring states of Haryana, UP, Punjab and Rajasthan; added to this are the household fires for cooking and heating. These daily practices make matters worse by adding to the already bad air quality levels caused by energy, transport and industrial sources.
A report by the Health Effects Institute recorded that if immediate measures are not taken to attack the ongoing air pollution crisis, deaths in India will rise from 1.1 million in 2015 to 1.7 million annually in 2030 and 3.6 million deaths by 2050.
The Risk of Indoor Air Pollution
Homes are our safe havens that keep us safe against undesirable natural elements including outdoor air pollution. We spend the majority of our time indoors and exposure to air pollution in our homes is an ongoing concern. Indoor air quality is degraded by air pollutants of both indoor and outdoor origins. In addition to indoor emissions from activities like cooking and cleaning, a major source of air pollution in homes is the infiltration of outdoor air pollutants. Infiltration refers to the transport of air due to pressure and temperature differences in and out of homes through unintentional openings.
According to Dr. Vivek Nangia, Director of Pulmonology, Fortis Flt Lt Rajan Dhall Hospital, New Delhi, air pollution is a vicious invisible killer and, in some homes, it has been found that indoor air pollution is 10-30 times worse than outdoor pollution. Common causes are burning of incense sticks, air fresheners, aromatic oils, candles, insecticides, mosquito repellent coils, glues and resins, household cleaners, toxic paints, heavy carpets, curtains and furnishing that trap dust. Together they could increase the level of pollutants in the air 100 folds of what is considered dangerous.
Outdoor air pollution can also come indoors through open windows and doors or by supply air ventilation systems. The air exchange rate is also influenced by the construction, design and operating parameters of buildings. Cumulatively it depends on infiltration (the air that flows into structures through a variety of openings), natural ventilation (air that flows through opened windows and doors) and mechanical ventilation (air that is made to go indoors or vented outdoors by ventilation devices like fans or air handling systems)
Under these critical circumstances, air purifiers are the only alternative solution to breathing easily and safely. Air purifiers are high-tech devices that clean the indoor air by eliminating many impurities like dust particles, pollen, airborne irritants and smoke.
QNET’s Family of Air Purifiers
QNET AirPure Zayn – the latest member to the QNET family
A compact and minimalist option, QNET AirPure Zayn is equipped with rigorous 5 stage purification process combining powerful technologies of HPP+, Ultraviolet and Ultra-Plasma ion filters.
SHARP-QNET Plasmacluster Air Purifier
Plasmacluster Air Purifier boasts of patented Sharp plasmacluster technology. By sanitizing the air with emitted positive and negative ions, it brings forth forest-fresh air that lets your breath in with gusto. The air is made breath-perfect with the help of the high-tech 3 stage filtration process that eliminates bad odours, suspended toxic gases, allergy triggers, viruses, dust mite allergens, bacteria and pollen.
According to the study conducted by Sharp and Kitasato Institute of Medical Centre Hospital Japan, Plasmacluster Ion Technology is also effective in reducing the effects of airborne Coronavirus.
A test conducted by IIT Delhi proves the effectiveness of Plasmacluster Ion Technology on Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) which are produced when coal, oil, gas, wood, garbage, and tobacco are burned. PAHs generated from these sources can cause severe health concerns to humans especially among children.
SHARP-QNET ZENsational Air Purifier
ZENsational Air Purifier has high density Plasmacluster ions that wreak havoc on pathogens in the air and on surfaces, killing 29 kinds of them including H1N1, MRSA, E. Coli, Cladosporium etc. The dual action function with PANDAA filter converts gases and fumes into harmless gases while the HEPA filter is able to capture really small particles, as small as 0.3 microns.
Protect your family with these smart air purifiers that are built to keep you safe.
