Glutathione is the human body’s own master antioxidant discovered way back in 1889. However, it was only about 30 years ago that scientists began to truly understand its functions and discovered the important role it plays.

Glutathione is a small protein molecule composed of 3 amino acids: cysteine, glutamate, and glycine called Glutathione precursors or building blocks.

Glutathione is produced out of these three precursors in every cell of the human body and performs many important roles. Glutathione has been clinically researched and proven to optimise our immune system, maximize the function of antioxidants, support detoxification process at the cellular level, increase energy levels and increase our strength and endurance.

Glutathione is at the heart of all immune functions and when the body experiences low Glutathione levels, this results in the manifestation of many diseases.

What causes Depletion of Glutathione?

Glutathione levels are affected by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include the increasing need for glutathione as an important part of various processes in our bodies, such as food for our immune system, recycling of vitamin C, vitamin E and alpha lipoic acid, repairing our DNA, and protecting our cells from oxidative stress to name just a few.

However, it is the external factors that impact the level of glutathione in our body the most. Our bodies are exposed to many toxic and harmful substances on a daily basis and this requires considerable amounts of glutathione for detoxification. Pharmaceuticals, environmental pollutants, food preservatives and artificial additives, household chemicals, UV radiation, and electromagnetic fields are just some of the components of modern living that affect our Glutathione levels.

Glutathione deficiency leads to:

  • Increased oxidative stress
  • Accumulation of toxins and heavy metals
  • Inability to repair DNA
  • Cell mutation
  • Reduced supply of oxygen and nutrients to the cells
  • Eventual cell death

People who consider themselves to be in good health may not necessarily be glutathione deficient but may still have declining glutathione levels. Age is a key factor in this. Glutathione production in cells declines naturally at an average rate of 10% per decade after age 20.

Additionally, the daily exposure to environmental pollution, exhaust fumes, smoke, viruses and dependency on fast food as the easy go-to option for many busy professionals, has a negative impact. Such a lifestyle eventually leads to a certain degree of glutathione deficiency.

The symptoms may include:

  • Headache and dizziness
  • Lack of energy
  • Joint pain
  • Sleep disorders
  • Lack of focus
  • Mood swings

It is important for us to ensure that our cells maintain a healthy level of Glutathione production in order for our body to function at an optimum level.

Raising Glutathione Levels

Certain types of foods help raise Glutathione levels in the body.

  • Phytochemicals found in broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts and cabbage, and chlorophyll in parsley contributes to raising Glutathione levels.
  • Some spices such as turmeric, cinnamon and cardamom have compounds that can assist in restoring healthy levels of Glutathione and boost the activity of Glutathione enzymes.
  • Beets have been shown to positively affect the activity of Glutathione enzymes as well

However, cooking reduces Glutathione content in foods and so does the length and conditions of storage and farming practices. Only uncooked raw vegetables, fruit, raw eggs, raw unpasteurized milk and dairy, raw or rare meats are rich in Glutathione. Cooked, pasteurized and processed foods contain far less Glutathione or none at all.

Nutriplus EDG3 from QNet is a revolutionary blend of amino acids that safely gives your body everything it needs to produce Glutathione where it’s needed, as needed. It has far greater absorption than oral glutathione and other supplements currently on the market. When you consume Nutriplus EDG3 on a regular basis, you are prepping your body to produce Glutathione naturally.

Healthy people may not notice instantaneous results when boosting Glutathione levels. However, they will notice an improvement in energy levels, mental clarity, and improved sleep and mood. Those who exercise regularly several times a week will see faster recovery times, reduced muscle soreness and improved athletic performance.

Some things in life you can do without, but when it comes to your health, why compromise? Try Nutriplus EDG3 for three months and you will notice many benefits including reduced susceptibility to cold and flu, improved skin complexion, and increased energy and strength.

Nutriplus EDG3 is available in boxes of 30 daily sachets, in a pleasant-tasting natural pomegranate and mixed berry flavour. Grab yours from the QNet India eStore under Health & Wellness now.
