City secured their 5th Premier League title in the 2020-21 season, boasting the best defence in the league. The signing of Ruben Dias was a game-changer as the Portuguese centre-back built a formidable partnership with Aymeric Laporte to shut down attacks. Ilkay Gündogan was in the form of his life, emerging as the team’s surprise top scorer with no less than 17 goals. It was a crucial season for City to build a stronger team for the next season as they bid farewell to club legend and all-time top scorer, Sergio Agüero.
The 2021-22 season saw the Sky Blues defend their title in an intense title race to become back-to-back champions. Despite hot pursuit from Liverpool throughout the season, City once again showed what champions are made of – edging out their rivals by just one point at the finish line.

City’s hunger for trophies only grew more in the 2022-23 season as they lifted the Premier League trophy once more, surpassing the 90-point mark for the third time in as many seasons. It was yet another historic season as Man City won the treble with an FA Cup victory over Manchester United and finally got their hands on the long-eluded UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
Fourth-Successive Premier League Title
Losing club captain, Kevin De Bruyne, in the opening game of the season to a hamstring injury was a huge blow for City. However, despite early setbacks, Pep’s team once again showed their mettle and locked in when it mattered.
New signings like Jérémy Doku stepped up, and it was only a matter of time before Erling Haaland found his scoring boots. It didn’t take long for City to show what champions are made of.
With 25 goal contributions, Foden was the player who showed up when City needed a hero, even earning himself the Player of the Season award, edging out players like Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, and Ollie Watkins.
