Manchester City became the first team in history to win 4 consecutive Premier League titles after lifting the trophy this season. A feat unmatched by even the most legendary teams in the history of the league – whether it be Arsenal’s Invincibles, Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United, Jose Mourinho’s 2004-05 Chelsea or Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp.

Closing out the season with a staggering 91 points, City remain unbeaten since the turn of the year, finishing 2 points clear of Arsenal and establishing an era of dominance – the likes of which English football has never seen.

A Lookback on Past Triumphs

Pep Guardiola celebrates with the Premier League trophy, emphasizing Manchester City's dominance with their fourth consecutive title and sixth since his arrival

Becoming champions 4 times in a row is no coincidence. The 2023-24 season marks the 6th Premier League title in just the 8th season since Pep Guardiola took over the helm. Pep has given the Sky Blues an identity and made the team play with a brand of football that has come to be loved all over the world. What a proud moment for QNET and its ineffable association with #ManCity.

This City team is known for its exciting high-quality football, winning mentality, tenacity and consistency. The first Premier League title under Guardiola was the historic 2017-18 season when they became the first and only team to reach 100 points in what was virtually the last kick of the season. This was a sign of things to come, as Man City went on to make a name for themselves as record-breakers.

City secured their 5th Premier League title in the 2020-21 season, boasting the best defence in the league. The signing of Ruben Dias was a game-changer as the Portuguese centre-back built a formidable partnership with Aymeric Laporte to shut down attacks. Ilkay Gündogan was in the form of his life, emerging as the team’s surprise top scorer with no less than 17 goals. It was a crucial season for City to build a stronger team for the next season as they bid farewell to club legend and all-time top scorer, Sergio Agüero.

The 2021-22 season saw the Sky Blues defend their title in an intense title race to become back-to-back champions. Despite hot pursuit from Liverpool throughout the season, City once again showed what champions are made of – edging out their rivals by just one point at the finish line.

City’s hunger for trophies only grew more in the 2022-23 season as they lifted the Premier League trophy once more, surpassing the 90-point mark for the third time in as many seasons. Losing club captain, Kevin De Bruyne, in the opening game of the season to a hamstring injury was a huge blow for City. However, despite early setbacks, Pep’s team once again showed their mettle and locked in when it mattered.

New signings like Jérémy Doku stepped up, and it was only a matter of time before Erling Haaland found his scoring boots. It didn’t take long for City to show what champions are made of.

With 25 goal contributions, Foden was the player who showed up when City needed a hero, even earning himself the Player of the Season award, edging out players like Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, and Ollie Watkins.

This season was a showcase of Man City’s squad depth with Joško Gvardiol, Oscar Bobb and even Stefan Ortega turning match-winners. City also added the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup to their trophy cabinet this season.

Kevin De Bruyne’s return was crucial to City’s title defence, bringing the team together when the going got tough. Despite being one of the tightest title races in history, the Sky Blues remained undefeated at home throughout the season, a testament to their dominance at the Etihad.

Goals from Foden and Rodri put the icing on the cake with a 3-1 win against West Ham United on the last day of the season. Catch all the highlights and the trophy ceremony in the video below.

Man City have come a long way to prove themselves worthy champions once more, and QNET is proud to be called a partner of such a prestigious club since 2014. With 3 more trophies this season, City has now won an impressive 17 trophies under Guardiola.

Manchester City have redefined English football in the past few years, after all, it takes a special team to win the Premier League 4 times in a row. This title is just the latest chapter in their extraordinary story, and with Guardiola at the helm, it’s hard to see what can stop them.
